Labrador breeding kennel
The Dei Nobi Labrador Kennel is part of a beautiful breeding kennel located in Piedmont, in the province of Alessandria, which has been dedicated to breeding Boxers, Labradors and Maltese for some time. Here the puppies are cared for during the first few months of their lives with passion, dedication and, most of all, lots of love – the basic ingredients for a dog to develop in a calm and balanced way. The utmost attention is paid to their health and state of mind and the litters only come from parents with a high pedigree.
When people think about expanding their family with the arrival of a puppy, they almost always associate it with the image of a Labrador. Maybe it is because this breed is the one that is best adapted to life with children, maybe it is because this type of dog is naturally inclined to please humans, but the fact remains that it is undoubtedly one of the most desirable breeds in the world.
The Labrador is an eternal child. It loves to play and will never tire of following its family in sport and in their daily fun. It has enormous patience with young children, to such an extent that it almost becomes their trusty babysitter. Although it tends to unleash its energy disruptively in outdoor activities, such as in the water or during playtime, the Labrador knows how to become a cuddly sofa dog when it’s time to relax and unwind. And it is because of this breed’s innate versatility that it is so greatly appreciated by animal lovers.
As an eternal Peter Pan, the Labrador will occasionally get into a little mischief, and this can sometimes be quite harmful and dangerous, such as digging deep holes in the garden. And it is precisely for this reason that the Labrador has to be educated, for its own well-being and that of its cohabitants. Incidentally, training will be easy as this breed of dog is extremely intelligent. This is proven by the fact that Labradors are used in rescue operations, as guide dogs for the visually impaired and in pet therapy.
When you visit our Labrador Kennel, you can see for yourself how much the dogs belonging to this breed are able to communicate with people even without having the gift of speech. Their great capacity for socialising, both with humans and with their own kind, makes them cheerful and pleasant.
We can help you with your decision to welcome a Labrador puppy into your family, giving you all the necessary information on the habits and behaviour of this breed. Our many years of experience mean that our staff have acquired both professional and personal knowledge of the characteristics of these animals over the years. Labrador puppies are delivered complete with pedigree and after having had all the necessary vaccinations. Our attention is focused primarily on completely preserving the health and well-being of the puppies and it is precisely for this reason that they are not released before they are 60 days old, allowing them to complete the weaning cycle.
For those outside of Lombardy and Piedmont, where the Dei Nobi Breeding Kennels are based, it is possible to request delivery of the puppies directly to your home, together with the documentation listed above, the certificate of good health and the certifications provided by the kennel.

Labradors are muscular medium-sized dogs. Males are 57/60 cm tall and weigh between 31 and 42 kg. Females are usually a few centimetres shorter (53/56 cm) and weigh 25 to 34 kg. The main features of this breed, apart from its colour, are the result of breeding with the aim of reproducing a perfect Retriever.
The head is broad, solid and tapered, with a broad nose and scissor-like teeth. The nose must be black when the coat is black or yellow, and brown when the coat is brown (chocolate). No other colours or combinations are allowed. The eyes are brown or hazel. The ears must be triangular, set slightly back and hanging down. The neck is powerful, of medium length, without a dewlap. The chest is deep and broad.
The coat is stiff, smooth, very thick and woolly, with a waterproof undercoat, black or grey, chocolate or yellow, but always plain coloured. Puppies of different colours may be part of the same litter: the colour of the coat depends on three genetic factors, which may also combine to create various shades. The colours permitted by the standards range from cream to “fox red” for yellow specimens and from a medium brown to a very dark brown for chocolate. As far as the black Labrador is concerned, the only colour allowed is a solid black, without any particular nuances. A white spot on the chest not exceeding the size of a two-euro coin is allowed.
The tail is of medium length, thick at the base and tapering towards the tip, like that of an otter, and covered with a short, thick, dense coat.
The colour grey (silver) is not permitted in the Labrador Retriever breed.
The Labrador is still used as a hunting dog. It is an excellent retriever, thanks to its keen intelligence, and is also used in marsh hunting.
In the past, its ancestor, the St. John’s dog, was present on board the boats of fishermen on the island of Newfoundland and the Labrador Peninsula, where it was used to retrieve nets and working tools that had fallen into the water. It is often found aboard the boats of fishermen in Brittany and Normandy.
In continental Europe it is bred mainly bred as a pet due to its mild, affectionate and sociable temperament and the fact that it is also very quiet compared to all other dog breeds of the same size or even smaller.
It is also often used as a guide dog for the blind due to its gentle nature and the ease with which it learns, combined with a medium size that makes it easy to handle in everyday life (such as travel on public transport). Specific training enables it to understand more than a hundred words.
Recently, it has also been used as a utility dog by the police and rescue services. Its remarkable sense of smell enables it to detect concealed explosives and drugs, and to sense the presence of people under snow and rubble. It is not, however, recommended as a guard dog as it is friendly towards everyone.
The Labrador is a mild-mannered, intelligent and very friendly dog. It must be said that the original selection was focused on its ability to retrieve game, so it is important to remember that a good Labrador is a dog that needs lots of exercise. A few good few walks might be enough to keep it fit and, in general, it likes to do all kinds of activities together with its human companions. As a puppy it is particularly curious and willing, always ready to learn from whatever it finds in its path.
It is always a good idea to pay close attention to its diet at any age, as recent research has shown that it is a dog that is genetically predisposed to the easy accumulation of fat, which was indispensable for the survival of its ancestor, the St. John.
